It has been a while since the last Future Salon, but I have some very interesting things that may pan out in the New Year.
David Brin is in
Silicon Valley and has reserved February 6th for a possible Future Salon.
Thanks to
John Smart for
making the connection. Rumor has it that Future Salon regular Joe Quirk is
putting the finishing touches on a book about Seasteading, so it's time for another interesting evening around
alternative governance.
Recently had the good fortune to be at the same conference as Wendy Palmer who is an Aikido master. She is using the wisdom gained from 40+ years martial arts to improve leadership. We brainiacs have to understand that in the battle of your frontal lobes and the reptilian brain, the reptile always wins. Just this week she released her newest book: Leadership Embodiment. Check it out.
Hope to engage her in a Future Salon next year too.
If you have ever
been to one of the Future Salons, you know how cool our space is and how good our food
tastes. If you are a developer you should rush to sign up for SAP
TechEd Meetup next Monday Tuesday October 21st/22nd.
Monday is a hack day with problems posted by the good folks of Ford, SAP and The Connected Car Hack Challenge.
You will be able to view Vishal Sikka's keynotes live streamed from Las Vegas and enjoy in-person keynotes by Scott McNealy, former Chairman/CEO of Sun Microsystems, and Stephen O'Grady, Principal Analyst and co-founder of RedMonk.
Lots of other informal sessions around Cloud, Mobility, Big Data, ...
I am bummed that I will be in Las Vegas, would have been a blast to hack with some of you in the SAP development world. Register immediately before it's all sold out, as we are close. Hope there will be another one when I am around. Yes next year we will have some Future Salons again. Can't wait!
