Jaron Lanier ramping up the McLuhan Ramp is the most watched Future Salon Video on the Internet Archive.
He was also on a panel with Will Wright at the Accelerating Change Conference in 2004.
Both are interesting to see or listen to, but nothing better than the real thing.
Our Cybersalon friends in Berkeley are hosting him tomorrow:
Sunday, Jan. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. for a Cybersalon featuring
Jaron Lanier, who coined the term "virtual reality" and launched the
first VR company. He also owns an amazing collection of world
instruments, and we've asked him to talk about anything he likes, so
it could involve music and/or advancements in technology as we know
it. $10 donation for wine and cheese, and feel free to bring friends
and family. We're at the Hillside Club (www.hillsideclub.org
2286 Cedar St., in Berkeley, near BART, wheelchair accessible.)
See you there.
Update: Forgot to mention that Jaron Lanier is now writing a Blog at the Huffington Post with some really thoughtful posts, worth reading.
